international recognition of KBSA's qualified status and credentials to conduct
top-grade sailing courses.
As a premier training facility, KBSA aims to invigorate growth and development
in the industry in terms of safety standards and sailing-related sports talent
cultivation. To do so, KBSA will actively engage and deliver best practices in

Established in 1953, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is the governing body
for water-based activities in the UK. Yachting experience courses under the RYA
Cruising Scheme aim to promote high standards of seamanship and navigation among
yachting individuals. This scheme comprises a series of complementary practical
and shorebased courses for which Completion Certificates will be awarded.
Participants can join the courses to increase their knowledge and confidence, or
use them as a progression to the MCA/RYA Yachtmaster™ Certificates of Competence,
which are recognised by maritime authorities worldwide.
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is a biennial race that gives ordinary
people the chance to race state-of-the-art ocean-racing yachts around the world.
Clipper crew come from all walks of life, and receive full training before
taking part in the challenge of a lifetime.
KBSA is the first accredited training centre for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race outside of the UK providing
Level 1 out of three practical training courses from Singapore. This intensive
5-day course introduces the complete novice sailor to life at sea, including all
aspects of personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship skills necessary to
become a useful crew member on board a large racing yacht. This course is
mandatory for anyone who aspires to race around the world. On successful
completion of this course, you will be awarded the RYA Competent Crew
The Academy owns two Beneteau First 40.7 yachts, Endeavour and
Venture, to support its training curriculum. The RYA approved
yachts are well suited to cater to different levels of yachting competency, experience and training.
Winner of Christofle Awards 2008 for Best Under 50-footer Sailing Yacht, the Beneteau yachts are one of the most popular racers/cruisers in
the sailing world. These modern yachts with beautiful hull lines, clean deck layout and comfortable interior promise hours of fun and
